Concrete Pavement Maintenance/Repair
This report examines the repair and restoration of concrete pavements. Determining the root cause of the pavement's distress and the rate of pavement deterioration will determine the best time and the appropriate repair technique to be implemented. In this context the report discusses the underlining objectives of each concrete repair technique. It also covers the composition and characteristics of a broad range of repair materials for cracks, spalling, potholes, rough patches and sunken slab.

Use of Recycled Aggregates in Construction
This report reviews the various types of recycled aggregates and their potential use in concrete and/or as road construction materials. For the purpose of this review, aggregates are classified into three groups: manufactured, recycled and reused by-products aggregates. They are described in terms of sources and production process, physical and mrchanical characteristics, the benefits and limitations of their use in concrete and/or road construction, and their availability.

Use of Recycled Water in Concrete Production
With the current water shortage in Australia, there is a need as well as opportunities to look for alternative sources of water for use in concrete production. Water authorities are increasing the supply of recycled water as ‘greywater' for domestic use and as ‘reclaimed water' for agricultural and industrial needs. They also encourage sewer mining by the private sector. In addition, it is possible to reuse higher proportions of wash water as well as combined wash water and slurries from concrete production operation (CPO). This report presents current information on the quality of concrete mixing water in terms of: mandatory limits and guideline on impurities, as well as permissible performance variations stipulated in leading National and International Standards. New sources of reclaimed water which are or will be available for industrial usage are identified.

Manufactured Sand - Abrasion resistance and effect of manufactured sand on concrete mortar

This research report covers the second stage of CCAA research into the use of Manufactured sand. The report details an investigation into the abrasion resistance of manufactured sand using Micro Deval test. The second part of this report covers the effect of manufactured sand on concrete mortar. Eight of the original twenty one manufactured sand samples were used in the second stage of the investigation.

The first stage of the research is reported in Manufactured Sand - National test methods and specification limits.
